Gear List

Trekkers, below is a gear list for trekking the Kokoda Trail, including my personal preferences. If you're thinking about trekking the Kokoda Trail, come along with Investa treks for an experience of a lifetime.

I can't emphasise enough the importance of keeping the weight to minimum. It is one thing to be able to carry the pack, it is another to also be trekking the 96km Kokoda Trail.

1 Passport (needs to have more than 6 months validation - before expiry date - at time of departure)
NOTE Porters Can Only carry a Maximum of 20kg including Backpack/Gear & water. Trekkers must keep weight to a minimum.
NOTE Use lightweight gear where-ever possible as you will have to carry it. It is better to minimise weight where possible now, rather than on the track.
NOTE Be aware, that during the mid year months it does get rather cool at night when at the higher altitude, so you need to account for that.
NOTE I personally have trekked in the same set of clothes for the whole trek (besides nights) to cut down on weight. I then take a long sleeve cotton shirt and pants for nights.
NOTE While it may seem to be a nice gift to give out lollies to the children, it is not in their best interest and many don't have teeth cleaning aids.
NOTE Personal preferences are only listed FYI and you will need to work out your own preferences.

We hire sleeping mats and backpacks.

We also sell selected quality trekking gear at discount savings and pass the saving onto you.
